Janet Rowan MbChB, Dip Obst, FRACP
Janet is a Consultant Physician, specialising in the care of women with diabetes in pregnancy. She grew up in England and went to medical school in Liverpool. She met a Kiwi and came to NZ in 1983, which has been home ever since, apart from three years working in Australia. Janet has four adult children and has been a Consultant at National Women’s for over 20 years, initially working in the broader field of obstetric medicine. Since 2002, Janet’s main interest has been diabetes in pregnancy, both as a clinician and researcher. Janet’s aim is to enable women to manage their diabetes and have a rewarding pregnancy experience.
Jo Morgan BAppSc (Advanced Nursing: Midwifery) RN, RM
NZ born, Jo moved to Australia when she was 17 and gained her Nursing Diploma and Midwifery Degree in Melbourne. She returned to NZ in 1990 and was employed at National Women’s Hospital in a variety of roles including Clinical Charge Midwife of the Pre-Labour Unit. Since 2000, Jo was employed as a Diabetes Midwife at ADHB and was appointed Team Leader in 2011. Jo enjoys working with women and families and is interested in what motivates individuals to make lifestyle changes.
